Yashica, I love you so...

Finally I have had some film developed! A few from my recent trip to Melbourne. I love my Yashica and I love using 3200 film.

I have also joined the masses and created my own flickr account, which you can have a look at here

“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to you soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery-celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from-it’s there you take them to.”

Photographers- Luzzalig (Mariene Parra & Nico Dams)

Cute photography couple.

It's 2:30am, and I can't sleep. On the upside, I made a really good playlist.

One day, I will have something of my own to post on here. My lack of motivation recently is quite scary. Although, I have been in a world of my very own, with someone I honestly say I am keeping forever.

Megan Bentley Illustration

Im always going to be a sucker for cutsey and whimsical. This just made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Illustrator Megan Bentley has made a zine, "The Moon" which is a three parter, the next two being "The Planets" and "The Stars". Yes please. She has also submitted an amazing illustration for the "secret 7" competition, for the teenage cancer trust in where you create a cover for a 7 inch for Bombay Bicycle Clubs "lights out, words gone". I was too scared to enter! (maybe the next one!) anyway rant rant, you can perve at the rest of her work here.

Also, I sold out and got a TV in my room. JC leaves in 2 days for 3 weeks which will feel like 10 years and it was a gift SO THERE.

Illustrator- Lizzy Stewart

Lizzy Stewart is an Illustrator from the UK. Her work is inspired, primarily, by a need to tell stories but also by folk culture, music and the places in which she finds herself. I post a lot about photographers but not many illustrators. I love the way she makes pencils work. Super envy. You can have a look at her website here.

I want all of these drawings for my art wall! So beautiful.

Lucky for me, and everyone else you can buy her prints here at her lovely little etsy store. Wonderful.
Photographer- "Yatender"

Yatender is a Vietnamese photographer. I love how haunting the photos look. I always seem to be attracted to this dreamy and ethereal style. I am not really very interested in technically good photos, but how a picture makes me feel, and I think thats why I like this style so much. You can find her blog and photo stream here.

I have also decided this year I am going to make a new playlist each month and store it on my ipod. This way at the end of the year I can have a big drawing / painting party and listen to all the songs I loved throughout the year. Januarys list is looking very good I must say...

Photographer- Jon Edwards

Such a relaxing saturday morning, the calm before the storm. Im drinking a nice black coffee listening to the Inca Ore / Grouper split, it's beautiful. I absolutely love these photographs by Jon Edwards, who is also an amazing artist as well. You can view all his work here

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird and when we find someone who's weirdness is compatible with our own, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.

Photographer- Nikolinelr

All I want to do today is take photos, the way I used to take photos. In light of this I am going to make a solid effort to take my Yashica everywhere I go from now on.
